In-Focus: Behind the BPN Formula

Learn from BPN Founder Nick Bare, the origin story of our cognitive enhancer In-Focus, and why we decided to improve upon an already great formula!

The original idea for In-Focus came in the early years of building BPN. Startup life is tough, but it will always remain one of the most fun times of my life.

At this point in the business, it was just the three of us – me, Preston, and Joe. The days were long, but the months flew by. We were living a dream for some 20-something-year-olds. Every morning on our way to the office, we would pick up coffee, and the rest of the day, we were slugging canned energy drinks like we were getting paid for it. A quick hit of caffeine and a strong buzz, followed by a nasty crash, warranting another canned energy drink to make it through the day. We knew there had to be a better option.

Initially, we worked with our manufacturer to create a healthy alternative to canned energy drinks for personal use. There was no desire to sell; we just wanted something that gave a strong caffeine kick, smooth tunnel vision focus, and mental clarity to carry us through the day without the adverse side effects. This is how In-Focus came to be. For a few months, we used our personal stash of In-Focus to get us through challenging projects and long days. It was a lifesaver.

We would have mass-produced it to sell on our site sooner, but we didn't have the cash to finance a large production order. But I'll tell you what, once we had the opportunity, we placed an order and let the world in on our newest product. In-Focus was born!

Since then, In-Focus has been helping busy people enhance productivity without the adverse side effects of traditional energy products. We created this supplement (selfishly) but have seen it help busy parents, determined students, and high-achieving professionals dial-in and maximize the day's opportunities.

A New Caffeine Approach:

In-Focus features three sources of caffeine. The first is the well-known Caffeine Anhydrous, the second is DiCaffeine Malate (Infinergy®), and the third is Biozomal™ Caffeine.

1. Caffeine Anhydrous is the most common source of caffeine that people consume daily. It stimulates the central nervous system by blocking adenosine, a neurotransmitter that causes a calming effect in the body. This is the caffeine that wakes you up!

2. DiCaffeine Malate is 75% caffeine and 25% malic acid. The added malic acid serves as a buffer to the caffeine, easing digestion and promoting an elongated effect, which minimizes the expected energy crash. You can expect a more level and consistent feeling of energy.

3. Biozomal™ Caffeine utilizes liposomal technology to provide a controlled and sustained release of caffeine from the green coffee bean.

Caffeine, TeaCrine®, and Dynamine®…oh my!

This combination is beautiful, to say the least.

TeaCrine® and Dynamine® complement caffeine by improving energy, focus, and motivation, without elevating heart rate or blood pressure. They don't affect the cardiovascular system like many cheap energy drinks. Instead, they activate the receptors of dopamine (a hormone that affects movement, emotions, and the reward system in the brain) without feelings of irritability or crash and jitters.

A study in 2021 (PMID: 35103121) compared the consumption of Caffeine, TeaCrine®, and Dynamine® to Caffeine alone in adult e-gamers.
